Yellowstone Fly Fishing Tips
Yellowstone fly fishing is wonderful all over the Park. I love fly fishing in the Hayden Valley.
It’s great to be standing in the river going after fish while you are
watching the geese swim by and the bison grazing across the valley.
The fishing regulations in the park are strict and complex.
They’re in the pamphlet you receive as you enter the Park, but it’s
probably a good idea to check with rangers inside as well. The Division
of Resource Management and Visitor Protection operates a backcountry
office that is intermittently staffed during the spring and fall
(before and after the visitor center is open). The office is near the
gas station and Hamilton Store, on the road to Grant Village.
This
is one of the best places to go for information about backing, pack
trips, and anything else regarding backcountry plans. The fishing rules
are stringent in Yellowstone so you need to check into it.
